Jakarta (ANTARA) - Starting in December 2024, passport making fees will be adjusted. In addition to the rate increase, the new policy also introduces changes to the validity period for several types of passports.

This change is in line with the government's efforts to increase the efficiency of passport administration, as well as provide more flexible options for people who travel frequently. Here are the full details of the latest rates and details of these changes:

Latest passport prices 2024

Here are the details of the passport making costs as regulated in Government Regulation Number 45 of 2024:

  • Ordinary non-electronic passport (5 years): IDR 350,000
  • Ordinary non-electronic passport (10 years): IDR 650,000
  • Ordinary electronic passport (5 years): IDR 650,000
  • Ordinary electronic passport (10 years): IDR 950,000
  • Travel document like a passport (SPLP) for Indonesian citizens: IDR 100,000
  • Travel document like a passport (SPLP) for foreigners: IDR 150,000
  • Passport expediting service completed on the same day: IDR 1,000,000

Current passport prices

As long as Government Regulation Number 45 of 2024 has not been implemented, the cost of making a passport is still following the rates listed in PP RI Number 28 of 2019. The following are details of the current rates for various types of passport services:

  • Ordinary 48-page passport: IDR 350,000 per book
  • Electronic ordinary 48-page passport: IDR 650,000 per book
  • Passport expediting service completed on the same day: IDR 1,000,000
  • Cost of replacing a 48-page passport due to loss: IDR 1,000,000
  • Cost of replacing a 48-page passport due to damage: IDR 500,000
  • SPLP for Indonesian citizens: IDR 100,000 per book
  • SPLP for foreigners: IDR 150,000 per book

The procedure for making an Indonesian passport is still the same as before. Applicants only need to prepare the following files:

  • Valid Identity Card (KTP).
  • Family Card (KK).
  • Additional identity documents, such as birth certificate, marriage book or marriage certificate, diploma, or baptismal certificate.
  • Indonesian Citizenship Certificate, if the applicant is a foreign citizen who has obtained Indonesian citizen status through naturalization or a statement of choosing citizenship according to the law.
  • Name change determination letter from an authorized official, especially for applicants who have officially changed their names.
  • Old regular passport, if the applicant has previously had a regular passport.

Please note that the applicant must bring the original required documents and not just photocopies or scans of digital files when applying for a passport to facilitate document verification.
